I have been thinking about this for quite some time now, especially since I became pregnant with my second child, that I have been lying to everyone –not least myself – I have been telling everyone for the last ten years how much I love to cook, and I do love to cook, I really do, but I have come to the conclusion that, I love to EAT more!! I am not a chef, I couldn’t be further from it, I am a simple home food cook! I come from a long line of women who love to cook, love to eat and love to feed!!! Food has to be about enjoyment as well as nourishment for me or I would rather not bother. At times my presentation is lacking and things can go wrong, generally when the phone rings or the baby wakes up, but I just try again and it normally turns out ok. Food means flavour to me and I don’t see the point in eating rubbish processed food when you can cook good flavoursome food every day, especially for children!! I adore savoury flavours and even when I go out to restaurants I generally only have a starter and main course omitting pudding as I am overwhelmed by my first two courses.
